I've just moved my boat (Botnia Targa 31) out of the marina and onto a drying mooring. It's much more suitable for my needs, but one thing I miss is being able to wash the boat down after a trip out to remove all the salt etc.

I'm guessing the solution is some sort of deck wash system drawing from the existing fresh water tank and was hoping that the forum might have some suggestions on pumps/systems that work well.

Thanks

Isn't this just as simple as adding a fitting to your existing pressurised domestic water system? It's probably just domestic push-fit, no? The only obvious drawback is that you'll get through the water at quite a rate.

Cheers
Jimmy

I'm with Jimmy on this. You have a suitable pump already on your domestic system, and the water is coming from the same tank, so just plumb into the existing pipework, or if you want a super cheap'n'easy solution, fit a hozelock type fitting on your transom shower hose, and you can unclip the shower head and fit a hose pipe when you want to wash the boat down. Total cost about £2.99.

Thanks
I like the shower hose idea. Maybe my existing pump needs upgrading too as the transom shower is pretty feeble at the moment.

That is exactly what we have done on ours. We never used the transom shower for its intended purpose so stuck a hose lock fitting on it and use it to wash the boat down with warm water :)
