Picked up this question whilst running through old index. When mains power is not available. Depending on the size of the area, warming can be achieved by using a couple of hot water bottles (rubber type) this amount of heat is sufficient to set off the curing process.
I have used a 100watt lamp powered by an inverter (with engine running) to effect curing just recently. A car halogen headlamp bulb can do the same from the 12v system. So long as these methods are fully supervised.

A real 'old hand' North German shipwright, accustomed to repairing in very cold weather, did a super repair for me by cutting the bottom out of a 2 litre antifouling tin, which he then used as a directional funnel to orientate the heat from his blowlamp, whose flame he varied to suit what he was dojng.
