I can't help thinking you guys are missing a trick, maybe i'm wrong. If your boat will sell for half the price, then so will the one you want to buy, which saves you a packet on the upgrade? I'd be trying to get a firm offer on mine without irrevocably accepting it, then start putting in low offers on S28's or whatever boat you want. If you wait for the market to pick up, then the cost to change is surely going to be higher ??

Good point Nick.
So people, who do I make the cheque out to? Go on, you know you want to. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

You make a good point, but it doesn't apply to me in the sense that i'm not bothered if I keep the S23 for a long time. I love the S23 and not bored of it yet as i've only had it a year. TBH i'd rather just give it to a family member and buy an S28 on a seperate fund than sell the S23 for half nothing.

Yes, that makes sense to me, keep taking the tablets! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It does to me - I'd rather see a family member use it rather than give it away to a stranger, i'm not a charity. It's not the financials that bother me tbh - If I was a worrier in that sense my hobby would probably be bird-watching /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Not so straight forward for us. Our boat is mortgaged. If we can't get what we need to pay off the mortgage and give us a good whack of the deposit on the next one, we'll keep her. A bigger boat would be great but if it doesn't happen, hey ho. We've still got a boat.
Its got to be worth more money to you finding a boat in the U.K., especially an obviously well loved item like Annes with a know history, no relocating exp. etc..
Raise your offer to a level that is going to make Anne take notice, she will be bouyed by the serious interest and make an offer on a 30 footer, and then the fun really starts.
And your brokerage fee is ................ /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Thanks for the compliment on the boat. She is in great condition and is well loved. Will be sad to see her go even though we will move up. I've learnt all I know on her - when we first got her I didn't know port from starboard and now am happy to take her out without Paul and have passed my YM theory. We've had a lot of very happy times on her. Its amazing how attached people get to boats!
You can say that again, I been thinking of upgrading my S24 to a S28 but never been in a rush to do so, my S24 is now 10years old and had her since new. Mind you kept my last boat 10years before changing. Simply love these Sealines, they have all the right facilities to make them comfortable and a good sea boat.
I think your partner is a lucky man to have you so interested in boats, especially to the YM level. Not meaning to sound sexist, but there wouldn't be that many lady partners, certainly that I know (mine especially) who show that much interest in the acquistion of the new boat, let alone the navigating.
Thank you /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. I love it as much if not more than Paul does. The only arguements we have about the boat is who is going to helm!. And the push behind moving up to twin engines came from me - he's highly delighted /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Yup, I agree but I have an even better swmbo, she loves the boat as much as I do but prefers to tie lines and fenders and leaves the driving to me! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What is the difference between the S23 and S24 to make the S23 more expensive? Or is it as simple as a diesel engine? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
