Walk ashore at the folly

Surely that depends on timing of visit and presence of any charter yachts ?
Well yes indeed timing is an issue. I was thinking in general though. Been to the folly many times but never on the walk ashore and I’m having trouble picturing where it is. Is it the berths at the end of the gang plank where the taxi drops off and collects ?

Last time we went there it was so quiet I wouldn’t worry about it, you will probably need to be lucky with your timing to get on there though, unless you can book now ?‍♂️

I've never stayed on the walk-ashore but I have been on the river side a few times. Always been pretty noisy but its been peak season and Saturday nights. Each time I've asked myself "why" and have only ended up returning because other people wanted to go there. Never seen the attraction, and still can't! Ah well.

Yes I have, it was fine. My then-boat had a draft of 1,7m, no depth problems. Slotting it into the tiny space I was allovcated was, err, interesting. But otherwise OK. Folly was alright for a night, no table dancing, beer good, food OK, WCs and showers poor.
As long as the beer is good and the food mediocre that’s good enough. ??

The problem is it's not, on my visit the service was that bad, we were ready to walk, we wished we had. Dreadful....
I’ve not been for a couple of years. It was always such a good pub in a lovely location. TBH I’m more interested in the mooring, we will take our own food, but a cold draught beer with a burger is always tempting. We will probably take the push bikes then and cycle down to island harbour.

Yes, it's a great location and once was a great pub, but sadly no more, my last two visits were very disappointing, to say the least.
I do hope they get their act together, but I somehow doubt it, their management of covid precautions last year was farcical.
The old landlord and Landlady now own the White mouse at Chale, now they certainly know how to run a great pub.
