There are only 3 types for all practical purposes (unless you need to get inside them). The earliest (1980s) are called 110. Then until 2005 or so the type was 120, then the 130/150 came in. The main distinguishing feature is the type of anode - the 120 has a one piece ring and you have to remove the prop to replace it, whereas the 130/150 has a much larger 2 piece anode.

I have a 2005 Bavaria, with a two piece anode. I'm not sure which saildrive model it is.
I assume the plate is on the `dry` side of the saildrive?

It is a 130 on 40hp and under and a 150 for bigger engines. Essentially the same lower leg, but different upper.

Yes, it has a 120 leg with a one piece anode. As I suggested earlier for all practical purposes it is only necessary to know which leg it is as they all use the same oil now, the props are the same (although of course different diameters and pitch depending on engine HP and boat) so the only difference from the service point of view is the anode, and whether you can change the oil from inside.

The diagram does not show any place where the 130 type oil drain tube would fit . Maybe its possible to extract the oil via the dipstick hole ... would that be possible on the 130 do you know.

OK so I have the numbers from teh plate, but I'm still none the wiser

Saildrive 3582395
MS 25 S
No 5025 02 23783

It makes no sense to me at all

Saildrive 3582395 - Product part number.
MS 25 S - Product Designation followed by gear ratio
No 5025 02 23783 - Serial Number

Does it really? I knew that the anode and rope cutter fittings were the same.

Still for identification it is a different model.

The point that I was making is that for straightforward maintenance purposes there are only 3 types of lower leg - the other differences are in the gearbox. The majority in service are 120 type legs (with various gearboxes), and post 2005 the 130/150 leg, where the anode is different, being bigger and 2 piece, but the props the same.
