Some time ago, I saw some information regarding spurious filters for Volvo engines, but don't seem to be able to find it now.

Does anyone know the Product codes for Oil and Fuel filters for a 2030 - Fram maybe?

will post fram numbers after weekend, on boat, having said that somebody posted that if you go to a volvo truck dealer and quote the filter number they use the same on transmissions and are truck prices not marine prices !!

G'day Riccardo,

You may find this link handy, cross reference for filters.

That is it Stu. Don't use them myself but saw the difference between the marine price and the truck price for the same VOLVO filters when in Devon. It is absolutely criminal the difference, over a £100 on this one boat alone. The mechanic isn't going to risk his reputation and livelyhood by not doing the job right and said he couldn't look his customers in the eye if he didn't give them the best deal.

There are many Volvo truck agents about and they should be able to help.

The 2030 is a Perkins engine. Just re badged. Then its probably a copy of some Japanese motor!

Halfords in Hedge End have been very helpful with my old MD6B and the current boat's 2002. Seems most of the filters fit Renaults too! Don't forget, Volvo don't make filters. All their ones are manufactured by Bosche.

I have a 2030D on my boat and am interested in this info too. Could I also ask if you could include impellor part no. The numbers on my pump plates don't relate to anything in Volvo spares.

I have the Perkins Perama 17HP - same base engine as the VP 2020 and the same family of engines as the 2030(I think) I have got the details at home. What I did was to order filters from http://www.asap-supplies.co.uk which were all Fram or equivalent, then the next time go to your local automotive bits supplier and you'll pay about half.
Incidently, the first fuel filter I bought was a VP and it was a B***** to get on, had to loosen the bracket and unions etc. The next was a Perkins and then Fram - both Perkins and Fram were a trifle smaller in length and went on without problems.

from my post on 4/12/2002, its always worth doing a search:

the volvo 2030 is basically a perkins 103-10 or M30 in the states, phoned sabre up who told me that it is also called a perkins m3 when it is marinised.
any way the perkins part number for the oil filter is 140516190. went to the local motor factors who cross referenced it for me and lo & behold crosland eqivalent is 2093, fuel filter (slightly smaller in length) is crosland 370.
1/3rd of the price !!
asap sell the jabsco water pump impellors (johnson pin drive) for £11 + vat instead of £24 for volvo parts.
