I've read about some problems with D3's but they seem to relate to the larger power versions. Is the 110hp also prone to trouble?
Not a bad engine, maybe prone to niggly electrical errors as it gets older but mechanically solid. Just make sure you do the cambelt when due. I have seen the damage it causes when they let go and it’s not pretty, or cheap!
If connections are clean spray with clear Waxoyl it provides an excellent long term protective coatingI read somewhere that the connectors should be sprayed regularly with WD40 to prevent damp problems.
Is this a good idea?
