Beware of the official Vendee website Tracking Map - they are updating Apivia every 30 minutes but not the other competitors. Shall know again at 11am how they are getting on.

Edit: I believe once they are within 200 miles they are also updated every 30 mins then every 5 mins once closer to Les Sables.

Very close between Charlie and Yannick for the win on corrected time. Boris might just edge Louis off the podium for third but I don’t think he’s done enough today to win it. Will there be a few last minute twists and turns before the finish....??

Boris had a slow 30 minutes but he's up at 20+kt again now. Shame we have to look at sites other than the main tracker to get the full picture. Vendee organisers need to up their game next time.

16:30 .... Bestaven's time/position has not been updated on the tracker since the 14:00 update because he is more than 200M from the finish...

For a clue about how Bestaven is doing ......
Ruyant is 183 Miles from the finish travelling at 17.76 knt so his ETA is in 10 hours and 36 minutes.
Dalin is expected to finish in approx 2 hours and 15 minutes.

If this holds, then Bestaven, (with his 10 hour time bonus), needs to finish within an hour of two of Ruyant to win.

At his last (1400) positional update, bestaven was about 25M behind Ruyant. i.e. between 60 and 90 minutes behind.

So Bestaven is still very well placed to win the race.

Boris is also likely to finish ahead of Dalin in the adjusted rankings.

[EDIT: The VG data that I am using gives SOG only. Not course or VMG. This further favours Bestaven's chances since his approach is direct(ish) and without jibes.)

[EDIT: Speeling]

Boris ripping it doing 23.6 knots on the speed check.

If he can somehow keep that speed up, he will win.

Dist to Fin Speed ETA (Hours) Adjustment Adj ETA
Charlie 32.7 19.7 1.66 0 1.66
Boris 138.1 23.6 5.85 6 -0.15
Bestaven 196.7 19 10.35 10 0.35

the time adjustments are :
The international jury by majority decision gives redress to MON10 as follow:The finishing time of MON10 will be the time she finishes less 6 hours.

The international jury by majority decision gives redress to FRA17 as follow:The finishing time of FRA17 will be the time she finishes less 10h15 hours.

Bestaven has an extra 15 minutes. Going to be very close.

Let's hope that Andi bothers to mention the current race during the program.

On today's daily English broadcast he was gassing about the relative merits of wind and solar vs hydro power for future VG races and asking various people about their future plans. 30 minutes of waffle and just a few minutes on the current race / weather situation.

Someone should tell him that there is an interesting race finish happening!
