I hesitate to say perhaps prople aren't paying that sort of money for that sort of boat.
Our Vega (6yr old engine, 3-4yr old sails, recent rigging, boom, plotter, etc etc etc) is advertised at £8500 and not sold yet, although there have been a steady trickle of enquiries. Distance is probably a factor for us.

I hadn't thought of an eBay classified- might give that a go. I'm also going to stick it in the local rag, you never know.

I reckon he's right. Older boats are a drag on the market right now. The market has been changing for some time into something more like the car market where people want new or nearly new - 20 or 30 year old brit boats might mean something to us but then so do Rover cars. And Morris etc.

So far we have had to chop up three boats because we couldnt even give , yes give, them away.

I'm looking for a ready to sail 23/25ft bilge keel cruiser in nice condition. Anyone know of a lot of boat for the money? Anywhere in UK considered.

I've just sold a boat on behalf of mate, put it on Preloved - 1st viewer bought it, had 2 interested parties waiting in the wings - no fees no hassle.

Back in 2008 I sold my 30yo yacht on fleebay auction starting 99p. My
expectations were low, but I sold her for a price below, but very near to what I would have expected through a broker.
And I did not have to pay brokerage fees.
The chap who bought it saw her only when he came to collect and paid in full.
