Underwater sealant

I need to seal my cutlass bearing carrier into the skeg and am baffled by the variety of advice on underwater sealants I have read in the past. Is there any sort of consensus please. It's messy to redo. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

talk to sikaflex directly to get their advice.

Sikaflex seems to have been the candidate that took the most flak or is this because people (me included) have used the wrong grades? One variety (I don't know which but sold on the chandler's recommendation) used to seal my windows lasted about 18 months before it started to fail.
However, I will ask at the LBS.
