Tufglas 31

I am considering purchasing a boat. Moulded by Tyler's in 1982
the current owner has called it a Tyler 31 but belives it is actually a
"Tufglas 31" 31 foot overall, about 10'6" beam with a deepish fin keel.
She has wheel steering, wide flat decks and a flat, swept back coachroof.
I can find no information on the boat by trawling the net. Does anyone have
any ideas where I could start. Tyler/Tufglas leads?
thanks,
Bob Love

Wow! another one.
I have a tyler Seacracker 31' I thought she was the only one.
the breed is known as the Tyler Seacracker, Tufglass 33 or Trintella 2a. They are normally 33' long. Mine is 31' with very little space between lazarette locker lid and stern.
Humperdinck Jackman runs a website for us.
Mine sails well and is very sea kindly. You will need a spray hood unless you like regular cold water baths in short seas.
The hull is classic in shape and easily driven.
They have much less room than others of the same length. It depends wheter you want to be comfortable in harbour or at sea.

Tylers moulded many hulls/decks through the 70s and 80s including my Twister.

My impression is that when they marketed the boats themselves they called them Tufglas, but I'm happy to be corrected. The legend on the blueprints for my boat actually describes it as Twister and Tufglas 28. So I would not be surprised to find that your Tufglas 31 might also have existed as another model. Maybe a Hustler 31?

BTW, Tyler mouldings have a pretty good reputation for workmanship.

There's a lot of possibilities for confusion with these boats. The Seacracker/Trintella2a/Tufglass 33 is a fairly heavy displacement classic wineglass hull with longish fin and skeg and encapsulated ballast. I "think" the twister is just long keel.
The moulding is certainly strong, thick and heavy. My surveyor said the hull was dry. However the top moulding in the cockpit has a lot of blow holes in the gel coat. I may have been unlucky. The internal decklining moulding is fine.
