Some ridiculous 24 hour runs being put in by 30 something boats. A Sunfast 3300 just did a 24 hour run of 265 miles, averaging over 11 knots. Singlehanded....

For those who do not know the race, the name is like "Transatlantic minimum quadragénaires", as it is open only to people over 40 years of age and they must not be professional sailors (though a few work in the nautical field of course).
There are two legs, the first either Lorient-Madeira or Marseille - Madeira where the two meet, the second leg starts from Madeira a few months later to allow people to go back to work in the meantime.
Nice formula. I once eyed the possibility of taking part and went to their presentation, there were a lot of crews, it's really very very friendly.

This is the singlehander currently 1st in an old video, topping 21kt, he already won a previous edition.
