Can anyone please recommend one of the above please, alternatively one with DAB radio. Preferably plug into cigarette lighter not hard wired. Any downsides to bigger job to replace radio.
Thanks K

They are still around, but so old hat now that the quality is appalling in my recent experience. Much better, in my opinion, to just buy an up to date head unit that accepts Bluetooth. No wires, no fuss, reliable connection.

Not what the OP asked for, but still worth a mention, i think:

Adastra 2 x Ceiling Speaker & Wireless Bluetooth Amplifier Music System 5015972206942 | eBay

Fitted one of these with the speakers in the cockpit. We use an app' on the phone that has pretty much every radio station in the Country, decent sound too.

For portable music we have a couple of different Bluetooth speakers, charged by USB. Same radio player app' on phone to stream music.
There is also BBC Sounds for live radio and BBC podcasts, and various other podcast suppliers and music streaming apps

I have one of these on the boat and one at home.
It runs off bluetooth from your phone, mains rechargeable, lasts for ages.
Music from Spotify, radio and podcasts all from iphone or android.
You can have it inside boat or outside or on flybridge etc
Great tone and sound. 1677480383820.png

Baseus Bluetooth 5.0 FM Transmitter Handsfree USB Charger Car Kit Radio Adapter | eBay

got one of these in my 20 year old car it works perfectly and gives you 2 high powered usb charge ports as well.
it is tunable to transmit over the whole FM broadcast band so it’s easy to find a frequency without any interference.
don’t listen to the comments from people who probably haven’t used one about the audio quality …unless you’ve got 2 grands worth of Bose audio system on your boat you won’t notice any loss in quality over an aux input.
cheap as chips and works great

I had an FM transmitter a few years ago - bought a "decent" one and it was absolutely terrible - a complete waste of money.

As above, buy a decent bluetooth speaker. I have an ultimate ears wonder boom. Expensive now, but gives a really good sound. Principle benefit is that we can listen to music in the cockpit, but as the speaker is under the sprayhood it can be nice and low volume so it doesn't waft over the Anchorage. If we relocate to the foredeck or down below and just take the speaker with us...

My Volvo does not have Mp3 .... and I cannot be bothered to change console panel to fit upgrade. So I use a 20 euro FM Transmitter that accepts USB / SD card .... I can set freg to free channel .... sounds fine. Plugs into ciggy socket.

I could easily plug in my phone to it ...
