There have been lots of questions about what are the right anodes to use, how often to change etc.

However if a boat is trailered and only put in the water on the occasions when it is being used, does it still need anodes.
And if so which ones ??
Outdrive, hull, trim tabs ???

Adrian

Any jobs going ??

I raced a Phantom 21 with a Yamaha ProV outboard, we had trim tabs and a hydraulic engine lift, the boat was trailed and used offshore and on inland waters most weekends while competing in the British National water ski racing championships, the only anode used was the one under the cavitation plate on the gearbox, the majority of the boats offshore water ski racing rely on the outboard or outdrive anodes, some did have anodes on the trim tabs only because some trim tabs came with anodes fitted

I raced one of my boats for around 5 years with very little change to the anodes appearance.
