Town Quay

[Neraida]

Just got a quote from them, is about fifty quid cheaper a month than where I am in Ocean Village so I'm pondering on moving and spending the spare money in the chandlery/pub, (happy where I am though, dilemma's eh!) I know there are a few forumites that berth there, would be grateful for any positive/negative feedback.

I'm not an owner, just an occasional crew on a TQ berthed boat, but Town Quay has been fine to sail from for the past 12 months.

Think about parking though!
I believe berth owners get 1 car park pass and up until 1-Aug-03 crew can park for a discounted £2 per day.

From 1-Aug-03 there are no more discounts and standard parking charges are very high. So if you are a single-hander or you sail with your family you may be ok, otherwise your crew will be spending much more than £50 per year each.

The sailing world does not end and begin with the Solent estuary and there are several others round the UK.

Thing is I'm quite happy in this MDL marina (it's true). Just don't really want to commit for a whole year to get a decent discount (yes that's true too)! Would rather go somewhere close by and sit it out for 6 months at a much better rate and decide what to do after then. We've only has this boat for a month so please excuse the confusion etc, think it must be a result of bank balance frenzy.
