I'm thinking of buying a legend 26 lift keel on a trailer and would be interested to hear from anybody who has trailed one. Are they as easy to launch and recover as claimed, what are they like to tow? With out sounding ungrateful I would appreciate reply’s from direct experience rather than “hearsay

Although I have not trailed a Legend 26 specifically, I have trailed boats from 18' up to 27' for 20 odd years. The down side is not the trailing, as long as you have a powerfull enough car, along with a decent braked trailer, it is always the launching and recovery, beach launching being the worst. In my experience it is at least a 2 handed and possibly 3 handed operation for the recovery, even on a good slipway.
The maintanence on the trailer is also critical and a good set of buddy bearings almost mandatory, along with a strong length of rope to enable a rope tow if you can not get on decent surface with the towing vehicle.

All that said you will be able to get to sailing areas that are totally unspoilt and most times uncrowded.
