Will these fit any toerail? Any good? Anyone got a spare one I can have a look at?

On Sigmas and others too, I might have one somewhere. Never like them, if you got some clown using your lifelines to swing aboard they put too much strain on the deck. If you use them put an inert sleeve between them and the stanchion or they will soon be joined for ever. Even just a layer of duct tape does the job.

You should find similar if not identical on most late 1980s Moody models, maybe later years as well but not sure. They mount with 2 x horizontal and 1 vertical bolt, very strong.

Where does the vertical bolt go?

I need to add a stanchion at each side near the chainplates, and through-deck bolting is not really an option.

They should come with a nylon sleeve, which can clearly be seen in webcraft's image. Galvanic corrosion is the main issue with them: much less likely with the sleeve and duralec or similar on the fasteners through the toe-rail. Proprietary nylon washers on the latter also help.

They were made by YS and bought by? I used to have them on my previous boat. Fox's in Ipswich used to have them .

ALL TR FIXINGS ARE @ 6" CTRS

so all bases are position in the nearest hole to suit & one machine screw goes through the base & toerail & 2 ms through the rail horizontally

The toe rail was also made by YS Fittings

On my boat all of the stainless stantions fit into alloy bases, and have heatshrink tubing shrunk over them before fitting.

Ideally, you should drill through the toe rail and deck and use countersunk bolt and nut but, if that's not possible, drill and tap the toe rail (but not the deck) and use shorter bolt into blind hole.

The vertical machine screw utilises one of the toe rails fixing holes, unless the base is fitted "off grid" it's not possible to drill &tap.
