Wansey….is there electricity available on the quay ?….an extension cord and electric toaster is all you need

We can get British bacon here and sometimes in mercadona...couple of Iceland shops do a lot of British stuff, but not cheap. They don't have anything so sophisticated as bacon in Spain.
Does it seal the slices with a tempting pointy corner which you bite off and get a shaped-charge stylee jet of superheated steam and marmalade down your throat, like a real toasted sandwich maker?I had a toaster similar to this but better made, it worked perfectly with a gas stove and with an Origo stove.

To make a marmalade sandwich, for example, you put the marmalade between two slices of bread, butter the outside of the bread to prevent it sticking to the toaster, clamp the two iron shells together and cook it for a few minutes over the flame.
You can get similar things with rectangular shells.
A chef’s blowtorch. Super useful for sealing rope ends too.Six in the morning, just had a brilliant idea……all the rage in posh restaurant kitchens is the gas gun used to brown suffles or for paint stripping. You could lay the bread of choice on say a slate tile(another fashion item) and waft the camping gaz thingy over it and brown to choice then arrange cheese on to and repeat and or just butter and you have the added bonus that you have a useful tool for boat maintenance…..![]()

I’ve never tried to make toast with ours. It only goes to the boat when doing rigging work, we light the log burner with it, at home.Exactly![]()
Just got a new boat and already thinking of ways to burn it to the waterlineSix in the morning, just had a brilliant idea……all the rage in posh restaurant kitchens is the gas gun used to brown suffles or for paint stripping. You could lay the bread of choice on say a slate tile(another fashion item) and waft the camping gaz thingy over it and brown to choice then arrange cheese on to and repeat and or just butter and you have the added bonus that you have a useful tool for boat maintenance…..![]()
This obviously calls for a PBO test!I’ve never tried to make toast with ours. It only goes to the boat when doing rigging work, we light the log burner with it, at home.
I bought ours from Black & Edgington, now Blacks, but I've had a look on their website and the Pyramid is no longer savailable.I used to have a proper pyramid toaster many many years ago but don't know what happened to it. It worked very well. I lost it some time ago. I tried to buy another, but all I can find are those flat ones with fold up wire stands for the toast. That is utter rubbish.
So if someone finds a source for the proper pyramid toaster, PLEASE post a link on this thread.
