Ah but, supposing that the important thing on board your boat that you wanted to attend to RIGHT NOW was......

....coming awake at 3:00am in a nice warm sleeping bag and a darkened cabin, needing a pee. Knowing that one is not going back to sleep until that is attended to, and knowing also that it is cold and damp out there on deck.

Decisions/procrastinate/decisions/ohwhatthehell.....

"A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!" :D

Dilemma - Cold wet deck or warm wet bunk?

One of the things my father; God or whatever bless him, said to me was"...never, and I mean never, take advice from anyone prepared to give it"

I stand by that.

I do like a good paradox. That one has more of a real-world feel to it than "This statement is false".

I've spent a long time getting the anchoring and reefing systems sorted to my personal prefs. Boat more secure, sails better, at all times. QED

Or put another way. systems are maintained, including us and our ageing bodies and minds and feelings folks, by continuous minute adjustment/feedback/adjustment cycle to keep all working within certain parameters-why should a boat be any different?

I guess the bottom line is that for some people those parameters might be wider( laid back, hungry eaters, big bladder types) or v tight ( racing, newbie, nervous disposition types).

Er, what was the question? Handy tip

Oh yes, If yer boat arrives in worse shape than when it set off, wot you been doing wrong?

Top tip. Ain't no such thing as an anchor too big.
