Just in case my Lincolnshire base worried you a bit. I am a fully paid up Yorkshireman (if that's not a contradiction in terms/forums/images/icons/wink.gif.

PM me when you come to collecting quotes for a haulier. My guy was great, brand new low loader and very competitive. Also get it shrink wrapped, only £250 and makes it more secure as well as keeping off the road muck and stone chippings.

Re: MedDreamer

Tell more.
I will need to take my ICC before putting my Med plans into action... I've done Day skipper theory, and about 50 hours sea time, coastal, on my S37. VHF too, but suspect that I will need more to go to the Med to play.

Re: MedDreamer

I'm not so sure about that, H! You already have a fair bit of experience.

Bear in mind that many many boats in the med are rented by people with a permis de conduire or similar won over a couple of days in a 18 foot boat with 4 taking the test at the same time. Many rarely use boats and have only a slight knowlegde of collision regulations. You should assume that nobody knows what the hell they are doing, and have never seen tide, or a swell as in UK waters. 50hours is a fair bit. Of course you should feel happy, but over the months and years your experience grows actually slower than the realisation that very few take their boat out, or knows what the hell they're doing, and of those that do know what they are doing, a very small proportion spend a night away from their own marina.

Not yet, except around busy areas but in two years time a limit of 10mph is to be introduced on the entire lake.

Bloody wonderful

WELL MARTYN , IN 2 YEARS TIME WHEN THE NEW SPEED LAW COMES IN TO FORCE YOU WILL NEED TO COME UP AND JOIN US SCOTS CRUISING THE BONNY BONNY BANKS OF LOCH LOMOND. A FAR NICER PLACE THAN WAY DOWN IN THE MED. AND EASIER TO GET TOO AS WELL.
I AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE SEASON STARTING, AS I HAVE SOLD MY OLD (BUT VERY FAITHFUL) FLETCHER, AND AM WAITING FOR DELIVERY OF A NEW RINKER 232 SPORTS CUDDY, THE NEW BOAT IS DUE FOR DELIVERY IN MID APRIL SO I AM HOPING MY SEASON MAY START AT EASTER WEEKEND, PROVIDING THERE ARE NO DELAYS. BEING IN LIMBO WITHOUT A BOAT FEELS AWFUL......

ENJOY YOUR SEASON EVERONE.

ROLL ON APRIL
