He was very famous...we lived in a remote town of about 50,000 of which about half a dozen had European origins....once we were walking across this waste ground and a bunch of school boys on bicycles went past chanting Ben Ben Ben....and one little school girl following a few meters behind chanted Bouba Bouba Bouba....

Absolutely....they get very surprised when you bump into a tourist who suddenly cuddles your Rottie
