It's not pure rust it's just rust coloured dross.
What does that mean ?It's not pure rust it's just rust coloured dross.
I already tested with a magnet and it’s not magnetic…but seeing how rust and marine life aren’t magnetic it hasn’t helpedIt means if you had used a magnet you would have found it was not magnetic.
If your filter and the Venus one is a good one is OK then it isn't going to be seaweed or marine life which is why I said see if you can dry it and burn it to ash or does it just dry to an inorganic lump. or has something broken up in the generator. Do you see the same stuff at the separator if you do that will rule out it coming from the outlet.

Yes…it’s always openDo you leave that seacock open, if you do then it could simply be marine growth that has established itself and has picked up some rust which I think would be normal from a cast iron exhaust elbow.
My view then is that it's marine growth which has picked up some iron oxide from the separated cooling water.Yes…it’s always open
A finger up all the other hull orifices reveal nothing
That would be excellent news…why would I be the only person in the world that these things happen toMy view then is that it's marine growth which has picked up some iron oxide from the separated cooling water.
Get the engineer to check the exhaust elbowThat would be excellent news…why would I be the only person in the world that these things happen to![]()
That is the planGet the engineer to check the exhaust elbow
Just make sure he doesn't tread on your new seacockThat is the plan
