It’s an exit for heated water so I can see the attraction for marine life..even though it is not used much

If your filter and the Venus one is a good one is OK then it isn't going to be seaweed or marine life which is why I said see if you can dry it and burn it to ash or does it just dry to an inorganic lump. or has something broken up in the generator. Do you see the same stuff at the separator if you do that will rule out it coming from the outlet.

Pure rust isn't magnetic ( I think) it's attracted to a magnet because it contains some residual iron.

I already tested with a magnet and it’s not magnetic…but seeing how rust and marine life aren’t magnetic it hasn’t helped

The water is pure (with some flakes of rust at the bottom)…nothing like the sludge that appears to be coming out of the exhaust separator (does anyone know if there any metal parts inside the exhaust separator ?)

Do you leave that seacock open, if you do then it could simply be marine growth that has established itself and has picked up some rust which I think would be normal from a cast iron exhaust elbow.

While I was here I removed the water pipe from the exhaust separator…and the top was clean…so it either proves that it is sea life going up…or…Newton was correct

Tomorrow I will replace that hose with a nice new one...and then she’s ready for launch. The painter just has to apply the anti foul and all my anodes are ready to go on as soon as the paint is dry. The Trudesign seacock is on and in a closed position.
The boat is filthy..even though it rained last night and it’s even raining (lightly) as I write this
