I think that I have said this before.
These government regulations are to attempt to keep in control of the public.
Generally speaking, people will do what they want. In this case the governments are trying to control those people who DO follow these regulations. If they don't relax or are seen to relax the regs, the will be seen to have lost complete control over the public.
Actually, I think the government has done a good job overall. They are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't.
Look at some of the good things that have come out. For example the NHS didn't get overrun and the did build the emergency Nightingale Hospitals.
Just try and put yourself in their shoes. Could you do any better. I'm sure I couldn't.
I totally agree with you. Easy to criticise from an armchair and hindsight is always 20/20. However having the Scottish and a welsh governments essentially politicising this is in my view disgraceful. Which was my main point. The policy that is being put in place now makes eminent sense.

Agree I saw your point well illustrated.
Its as if London can now control the “ provenances “ sort of puppet like if it wants to ?

Eg with the wee Crankie ....if we want the Scots to do something, knowing they will do the opposite.......we can use that pig headed ness to get them to fall in line .
So if we really want them to move to the R we say England’s moving to the L ( no discussion or rationale necessary) .......and guess what they do the opposite move to the R .......in a never endum , can,t accept the referendum kinda way :) :)

Rest of the EU by and large converging on people movement and social distancing, mask wearing regime .....gravitating forwards together towards a common plan .
Mean while Eng , Wales , N I and Scotland ......diverging .....ludicrously in full view .
Seen the full gamut of car plates in Italy , Swiss , German , Dutch , French even Spanish and few Russian ( Moscow ) at our marina .
Of course in the common denominator is we have driven ......not engaged with crowds @ airports .

Boating scene is normal here , with all the following economic back ups ...restaurants, bars , shops , marina life in action and generating €s and jobs .

Some friends just flew out to Marbella and said it was fine, but a lot of people had not completed their SpTH Spain Travel Health form which held things up.

I was wondering if we needed to do something similar for the Ferry but it only seems to relate to flights - anyone know?

I do have a letter from Imperial College saying I am working on essential Containment Level 3 labs in Madrid, in July, I dont think that will be needed though,,......!

I filled mine in online earlier today, when complete it emails you a qr code which needs to be scanned when you arrive in spain. It was straightforward enough, but the form has various field validation issues and not very helpful error messages. Eg fields have max length limits, but the form doesn't tell you what the limits are or which field you have exceeded the limit in, it just gives you a 'form could not be completed' error when you hit submit, so you have to go through it with trial and error until the form will save.

Here's a link to the electronic form

Spain Travel Health

I think there's a version you can print out and fill in by hand as well, but the qr code seems a decent solution, not withstanding the field validation and unhelpful error messages

Thanks - I did start completing the forms earlier but it specifically related to flights, hence the Q is it needed for the Ferry?

I emailed Brittany and checked their Website and nothing said. I wonder if they may advise us en route? I will call them on the morrow.

How long are you there for ? We will be that way end of the month. Various reasons around Cala Dor for next 3 weeks With some excursions to Cabrera and es trenc

Not sure yet, might be coming back on 20th as I've managed to pick up some work, or might end up staying a little longer if it looks like I can work out there.

Well probably do a cabrera trip at some point earlier on, maybe next week, but need conditions to be excellent as we're only in a 25 footer, if you see a windy 25 out and about either in cabrera or around the south west corner of majorca that's probably us, haven't seen any other windy 25s about.

Any idea if the form also needs completing if crossing the border between France and Spain by road? As you say, the form appears to be geared towards flyers.....
would also appreciate any guidance on best way to book Cabrera mooring-have not been able to find a link anywhere.....is it a case of phoning?
cheers

OK point taken.
Actually, I "kind of" agree with devolution but there is a definite "cake and eat it" going on with the Scottish.
Anyway, not the place to discuss this.

very impessed with the Spanish the way they are handling things everyone wearing masks and taking all necessary precautions not like the UK ! I really don’t want to go home feel much more secure here ........

I go tomorrow - I will feel far happier in Spain. They enforce it and mark out beaches etc

Which Marina?
I'm in Manchester Airport, t3 airside now. Its pretty quiet, security was quick, but there was a queue for Ryanair checkin as usual.

All bars and restaurants are closed, but whsmith and boots are open.
