Ie force 4/5 etc , since I did my exams to many years ago , that it was the Beaufort scale . But today on a quiz show that it is the Douglas scale. Is it just me .

Put it this way , you just come into port and I asked as I was exiting , and I said what’s the wind like you would say force 4/5 and I would say cheers .

Yes, because you were asking about wind, not sea state.
Then again, you might get told to stay in the pub because it's Harry Roughers ;)

Beaufort scale has a very interesting history.....it was first used on the Beagle on Darwin’s voyage

No you didn’t .

Post one started “Sea state scale” “ie force 4/5 etc”

Your post immediately muddled up sea stat in the title and wind force in the first sentence - with the “ie” clearly intended to link but wrong
Dunny you might be right , I got here on a boat , so my ScottLish is crap and before you say it yes it’s beer time.

Beaufort is a windscale measurement based on the effect of wind on the sea, Douglas is a scale of the state of the sea itself.
Beaufort is a measurement of wind from what I understand , where you state it it’s the effect of the sea, I think that’s wrong .

Should we be asking what is the international “beer state scale” - surely there must be one :)

F, o ff Bouba
1 I drink beer because I am. Allergic o water
2 buy in turns , with Bouba it’s always my turn.
3 only to be drank in pints
4. Not to be mixed with piss
5 Never Never pay for beer with your card, the wife knows
6 if you you are drinking with friends , you are not Bouba
7 Never have one for the road , you spill it going around corners
8 this is when you have been n a couple of hours and averaging 4 an hour
9 It’s getting very rough now , do we have one more and join the fighting
10 Now you out of control and want to fight, So look for a Bouba to beat.
