I was sent THIS link and I have checked it out against Snopes and sadly it is not for real. However, it is about ships and it is funny.

No Sgier - please read my post again. Of course its not real and I always check these things with Snopes anyway (it was sent to me by a chap who did think it was real). The two characters are well known down under for their John Cleese style of delivery.

Whilst the interview may be a piss take, the actual incident certainly is not.
The tanker in question was called the 'Kirki' and the incident occurred in 1991.
