The adventures of a CLB.

You must have been in the bunch of 2 or 3 that were moored up a hundred yards down from the lock.

Two of us were moored together just below the landing stage on the piles.
Were you trailing at bit rope behind as you exited lock ?
We did holler a somebody to alert them.

No not me with the rope im a bit fussy about them, there was a quite a few hire boats that day, plus at least two boats had never done a lock before, so were very nervous.

B1s boat now back at MDL Chatham.
Will probably do Rochester Cruising Clubs ex Commodes sail past with us next weekend and then its tide and weather permitting back to MDL Bray and the delights of being waited on hand and foot by the lock keepers once again.

Ps.In answer to a previous post by Ian.....When B1 and I walked into pub recently ...We were asked if we wanted a table for two :(

We did indeed join Oldgit and Mrs Oldgit on SarahT last Sunday morning for the RCC Sailpast followed by a sit down meal in the clubhouse for well over 100 - an impressive end to our visit to the Mudway and thanks to all who made us feel so welcome.

A steady hand on helm and throttles - my, what long arms you have, Fred!

Off down to Chatham later this afternoon and weather looking good for return trip upriver tomorrow leaving marina before sun-up and back thru Teddington hopefully mid/late afternoon. Then up to Penton on Saturday.
Feels like we've been away forever !

Nice to see a few more of the BCC out and about, came into Teddington with "Jays" and "Judgit" and couple of other boats from the club

Left a bit early from MDL Chatham and had to ease down a bit after the barrier.
Very slow crawl through central London, followed by a strict bit of bouy following all the way up to Richmond.
Never saw less than 4ft under the keel though.
Still think its the journey across London the best trip any self respecting motor boat owner can ever make.

B1.Presume you are on way up to Penton Hook ?

Just off to try and find some stuff for my new "Gumtree" purchase...a sewing machine.
Have to find some needles........ size 16 apparently !
All me zips are starting to come adrift, I mean just how difficult can it be for a man of so many talents to do a bit of sewing ? ...... girls can do it ! :)
...and have you seen the way they throw ropes :(

Difficult for anybody including many one legged ducks not to overtake the CLB if they actually want to get anywhere this side of Xmas
