The adventures of a CLB.

No Pressure ...but !

"Some pictures around the Kent coast"

Wot with you being retired and having bugger all to do all day..... where are all the pix
of the trip through the great metropolis ?

I have about 3,000 more pictures from my Medway trip waiting to be sorted.... more will be released as I get round to it.

Any more comments verging on age discrimination could result in me publishing all of them, or none, depending on my inclination.

However, here's an iconic image of said metropolis to be going on with. Unfortunately it was overcast so light could have been better. One of these days I will do a tidal through London when the sun is shining!

"This little fella was just locking out from Tilbury docks as we came back upriver - glad we got past just before !"

If remember correctly you were mentioned when VTS contacted him.
Ps.Hate to bring this up but......have you told anybody about being told off for wandering all over the river and getting in the way of that 10,000 ton ship ? :)

VTS are quite good at telling off leisure cruisers. I got a rollocking earlier this year - a wash complaint :)

Complaint lodged by....... The Woolwich Ferry :D

Didn't get told off by VTS. A passenger boat in conversation with VTS mentioned that perhaps we should be a bit closer to the edge of the channel and agreed that he would have a word with me - which he did in a friendly and polite manner - subsequently overtook us and made life a little uncomfortable wash-wise :(
The "10,000" ton ship was actually around 34,000 tons and we were never in her way. In fact, by the time she passed us we were more or less starb'd hand buoy hopping.

Pics of each below:

Reminds me of a similar occurence when i was a 13year old on a run down the medway with my dad and a couple of friends.

Someone asked whether it was important to stick to the far right hand side, to which a "Expert" (at least he thought he was) said, "nah, we dont matter we are so insignificant"....

then 5 mins later, PLA launch pulled alongside and told us to get over to the right.

Never forgotten it, and of course we ensure whenever we see him, that our friend doesnt either...
