Thanks to this Forum I have managed to get hold of a decent Thornycroft 90 diesel engine. Shipping it back to Spain was a concern and had almost signed up for van hire at £550 for 2 weeks and a standard ferry fare in excess of £300 when it was sugested I try Parcel Force.

I was quite shocked. Collect from house in Cambridge and deliver to marina in Barcelona four days later, scheduled service, £114 + VAT.

Thats bloody good, I think.

Cheers

luckier than some

friend of mine shipped a mast to the canaries last year. while it was in transit the shipping agent went bust and the shipping company wouldn't hand it over till he paid the freight again. when they released it he found they had broken off the cap fitting.
got to be something to say for handing the whole job to an outfit like parcelforce!

I use DHL worldwide, last lot of stuff sent to ireland, 4 boxes wieghing in at 60 kilos was 90 quid for overnight service. Not bad as insurance was included, not sure how good the cover is as I've never had to claim.
