Just wanted to thank those dear souls who gave me great advice a few days back on places to anchor on the Medway, and the way to go about it. Being an anchoring virgin I'd been a bit anxious about it all, but to Stangate Creek we bounded (very bouncy in gusts up to F6 - again, I've not experienced winds like that in our new little boat) and into Sharfleet Creek we sidled. Dropping the anchor was simple (though I'm sure we'll have many palavers in future), and though the swing alarmed me a bit at first, I soon got used to it and realised we weren't just about to be rubbing up against our neighbours, of whom there were about 4 or 5, in an overly friendly manner. A lovely evening was spent, first with a little boat scrubbing and then a 'few' glasses of wine and dinner. This is what life should be about...

Also wondered how many others who had read the post and answers joined us there on Friday evening...

Was there on Sunday.Yes it was a bit blowy.Bit of a contrast to last w/end when we moored over night, warm and very calm.If rising tide you can go out the other end, across mud flats but with care!
