Due to carelessness on my part I am now without a tender and plan on buying one in Athens. Any advice on a good (cheapish) chandler in Athens would be appreciated
Hi Tom,
Sorry I did not see this earlier.
Been in your place last year in Ionian too.
If you want an interim solution -like I was looking at- then at Vliho (deep into Nidri),
is a english guy called Jeff(I think) who sells used (f**d in my case) items.
Distressed as I was, he sold me a Plastimo for 170€ that leaked air havilly. However every time is different and may be this time he has something better and you as Scottish can make a better deal.
Otherwise I would suggest you contact Stratos Kyriakis, Zodiac authorised service, 33 Pergamou Str. Glyfada, opposite the Golf!!!, Tel 210 9600784.
Honest guy, perfect service, and very good prices. He also have new ones, and ex demo ones. So if you have not solved your prob yet or Jeff has not anything interesting I suggest to give him a call and perhaps he could find a good solution.
He also have Bombards and Avon.
There is a chandler who charges competitive prices on the Alimou Avenue in Kalamaki, Athens. The name escapes me now but if you're berthed at Kalamaki Marina, cross the main dual carriageway, where there are two other chandlers, incidentally, and take the side street where the signs to "Vassilis' Taverna" point. Follow this road on until it meets Avenue Alimos and you shoud see the chandler across the road from you.
