Plus 1 for the electric outboard, we had a Torqeedo as early adopters, with a 3D ultralight tender. Great combo. The ability to split the motor into bits to hand off into the tender was excellent. Would easily cope with the Dart usage you describe.

It doesn’t have to go twice as far...it goes far enough...and a few minutes on a charger is all she needs

True....but the non Tesla infrastructure is improving

I’ve had EVs for years. 100s of thousands of miles. On my second iPace too. It’s a non issue but with the proviso that you need to do your planning

I have to disagree.
We were at Swanwick last year and that was doable with the ev. New Super charger station installed at oxford. Beginning of the year 20 min stop and good to go but at the back end of the year it was a 40 min stop for the same charge and with the cost of public charging it was cheaper and easier to go in my van

I know that electric prices in the U.K. have gone through the roof....I wonder if hotel destination chargers are free in England ?

Not that I am aware of. Some of the supermarkets do free slow charging and you can get cheaper cost for slower overnight charging

I have a Torqeedo....and if asked I will always say go electric (except in the electric car thread where I’m often asked not to)....but if the person doesn’t indicate that they have the budget for an electric outboard then best not to go there...but launching a small dingy with an outboard attached by hand is very difficult off a rocking boat...and putting on a petrol outboard when the dingy is already in the water can be even harder....electric outboards definitely have an advantage
