Just removed the dash at last. Found this and wondered if I can test it to see if it works. Can not find anything on google, bit then it's a 50 years old gadget.



If I can get to see if it works I'll keep it.

Just though, I found this in the bilge and now thinking this could be part of it.

Looking at the sensor I would say its very unlikely to still work. The pellistor elements (catalytic) in these are easily contaminated and can be easily contaminated and damaged by oils and chemicals. Silicon in any form kills them rapidly. They have a limited life and we used to change them regularly as they failed over time. Maybe you can source a new element or adapt another manufacturer one if you can find one with the same voltage, current requirements. Probably cheaper and easier to buy one of the new modern designs if you really want one and dump that one.

i think as it is a new modern one will be easier. ill have a look around to see what is about.
