Can anyone tell me how to get at the cooling water pump on a Suzuki 2.2 outboard. My out board is overheating, could be blockage, water slow to appear at telltale but I suspect it to be pump.

On my Suzi 2 the impeller is down in the 'foot', (near the propeller).

Have you forgotten to read the handbook? After removing the propeller you have to undo the 2 bolts and remove the water pump cover and the impeller will be exposed. As you will need spares, your dealer should be able to tell you all about it.
However, when I have thought water flow to be sluggish, it has been due to salt crystals drying out in the passage ways and I dissabled the motor head to clean them out, knowing how stubborn salt can be to remove. Since then I always run the engine in fresh water in the wheelie bin at the end of the season. The longer it is run this way the oilier the water going through the cooling sustem gets and the better the protection afforded.
