In the past month someone posted a link to a supplier of stainless deck fittings, other than Baseline. I'm sure saved the link, but I can't find it.

I actually want an end cap for 25mm stanchion tube, and a round fitting like this, external to the 25mm would be preferable:

Any suggestions?

I can't help you with deck fittings at this stage. When it comes to S/S hinges, latches, barrel bolts, fasteners etc try eBay as they offer very good prices. Just watch some suppliers who will try to pass off mild steel as s/s. ( I've complained to eBay but it appears they have done nothing)

This is a UK firm selling on eBay. The base looks identical to the one in your photo ...
That's because it is the one in my photo (although I made it look better), but it's 22mm.

Thanks for replies, SeaScrew 4111225 is ideal for the base, but no luck finding an end cap. I want this to be a plain blanked off tube with 25mm ID, or with a flange and fit inside the pipe.

Perhaps I'll explain. I'm fitting a 25mm pipe between the top of the curved rail behind my chart table (the end cap) to the underside of the coachroof (the round base, mounted on a round block of teak cut to a 7° angle). This is to mount a computer monitor. I will recess the base of the tube with the end cap into the rail, and put a screw downwards into the plywood bulkhead below.

Nigel,
If you have no luck getting an end cap you can get one of these

25mm Fork for Tube End 6.4mm Screw & Grub Screws
Polished 316 Stainless Tube Fitting (Reference #4665025) @ £6.53+VAT

Grind the forks off flush and polish up. There's loads of meat in the end. Here's one I did - I've drilled a hole in the end to take a threaded bar.

Could the one on the bottom right be cut down to look like this, but still have a few mm at the end?

Yes it could, you have around 4mm to play with after cutting off the end piece.

Why not just get a black plastic insert....
I can get these sizes.
No more than 20p each.
Would just be postage on that.

1"x 16/18g 25x1.25/1.50
1" 14/16g HD
1" 14/16g 25.4 x 2/3.25

I typed into google search "25mm stainless steel end cap tube" clicked on 'images' and there were a plethora of fittings from both here and abroad.

Or alternatively you could try here: http://juststainless.co.uk/products/handrail/handrail_fittings.asp#JSLE08

Also a company called andythornton.com, when i was going to do make my stanchions from carbon fibre tube i was going to use these:

They look very nice!!!! Great find

I'm nearly sorted, I'm back to 25mm tube.

I've found a supplier on eBay selling polished tube at a reasonable price, the only possible downside is that it's "18/8 - 18% chromium & 8% nickel" not 316. This will be inside the saloon, does the grade matter?

[Later] Just noticed the wall thickness is only 1.5mm, this may be a bit thin.
