I'd be happy with 304. Depending on l use I'd be happy for external too.

Yes, I agree. There are almost certainly quite a few 304 fittings on deck on my boat, some coming up to 30 years old and still OK. Inside absolutely no problem. The only significant difference is the 2% moly that helps to reduce pitting and crevice corrosion. Unless the interior of the boat is awash with seawater I would not be at all concerned. Most of my engine is carbon steel or cast iron, sitting above a bilge that is often wet with seawater. It has barely rusted after well over ten years.
