Went to the Hamble at the weekend looking for our next boat. We had a few boats on the short list but the Sunseeker was not one of them until we decided to have a look at a 1995 one for sale - excellent condition - real wow factor. Has anyone any experience, knowledge, thoughts on this model of Sunseeker?

looked at one at H/Point while ago. I was impressed with the boat design, and given S/S penchant for hippy furnishings, it wasnt bad. Seems older S.S arent that easy to sell, and I thought Kad 42s would probably seem a bit weak these days.

Mid 90's Sunseekers have a reputation for being solidly built and tough. Most 375's had a more modern interior than the earlier Martinique 38/39's, in that you tended to get high gloss cherry woodwork and light creamy/beige carpets.

I am not aware of any specific faults, but then I am no Sunseeker expert. A boat of this age will probably have Volvo KAD 42's. A good engine, but early examples had some problems which were resolved later with the b and p spec engines. Either way, with a boat of that age it is important to have the mechanicals thouroughly checked.

If it was on the Hamble, was the boat one of the two Inwards have?

I looked at one a while back at hamble point. I decided i liked it alot. Poor excuse i know but due to the fuel hike due to happen I decided mine wasn't that bad and couldn't justify the upgrade .
Good points were; good access to engines, looked ok with hood up or down, it did need a new hood but it was made up of lots of removable panels, good sized cabins. I could go on because I was smitten. No I don't own it or work for the broker.

It is the white hulled boat - we have'nt seen the blue hulled one. We were impressed with the condition but did not have the time to inspect really closely - we were rather shocked that we liked a Sunseeker!!

Could start a whole new trend but boats cruising with us would have to adopt the same image so I/we did'nt feel out of place.

Cheeky bugger--I have my own hairy chest and cant afford the dally but as my SS is an antique I drive with cloth cap, check shirt, braces, national health sun glasses and dungerees. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
