Sunken boat project.

He has posted here to share hi project. He has not asked how to get AC power on his boat.

Read post #234 "It's just a 22ft sports cuddy so not much load demand..."
Ok....what I suggest is that we set a limit....I say we should stop arguing after another 50 posts

Update

The foam cushions and their respective covers are still drying out. Fortunately the bathroom is small and the heat from the dehumidifier warms the room which aids evaporation. I've been emptying the 2 litre container daily.

On the boat I've just been down and emptied that dehumidifer too. I opened up a hatch from the cabin to underneath the boat (heater ducting and a few sea valves visible) lots of humidity around.

I will empty out the battery boxes which are full of seawater and remove the (presumably dead) batteries.

I'm collecting the Honda 200 next week. As the dealer is in the west country I'm not able to get the PDI done there ( and don't have a trailer or 4WD to do a 400 mile round trip).

I'm hiring a decent trailer as the engine is probably 300kg on its transportation frame.

So, I can have the PDI done locally for a price...

This allows the engine to be registered on the Honda system. Whether I choose to have it serviced by a dealer remains to be seen!!

Is that just your valuation or an agreed valuation ?

I doubt they'd pay out more than you paid for it.

It was my valuation.

However, I have a screen shot of my chat with Craftinsure where I said it was worth £10 k at least and they said use that figure....

I'll need to revalue once it's all done. Probably £40k Ish....

I was recently involved in the purchase of a similar outboard and we were able to negotiate with the dealer to “pdi” it in his workshop, he registered it and then we collected it (from the other side of the country) and fitted it.

Might be worth asking your dealer to do the same, but would have been easier to negotiate before you paid.

Re the warranty requiring dealer servicing, I agree it’s a bit of a conundrum.

For transporting it I’d just hire a van. It will fit in a normal transit.

Interesting, was that a Honda?

I recall the PDI on my new100 honda about 3 years ago, the guy started it, checked fixings and connected a laptop etc.

I'm not sure how you can do a pdi without running up the engine?

It also needs fluids adding which makes transporting it more problematic.

I'm hiring a trailer for £80 over 2 days. Cheaper than van hire.
