I cant seem to find any supplier of cedar planks that offers different colours, red or white to give accents at the sheer line, gunwale,
Any body know a supplier, the wood merchants I've contacted just have red cedar which they have to order in?

Tnaks, Neil

You might address this question to the experts on the forum at http://www.themultihull.com as quite a few there have been building with cedar strips.

If you're only using it for decorative strips, why do you have to stick to cedar? There are plenty of other blonde woods to choose from, as there are dark woods, red, brown and black. I suggest that you widen your search.

It's structural as its the hull!! a layer of strips 1/4" thick 1" wide edge to edge then 1 layer of glass on each side and you have a very light and strong boat apparently,
But I've seen American boats that have used different colours to good effect.

Its my winter project starting early due the appalling weather.

Thanks Mark, I'll have a look at that site.
