I did some research on buying a steel boat recently and came up with a few conclusions.
They are disproportionally heavy for their size under 35 feet.
They are seriously strong.
They tend to rust from the inside out, so make sure you can see all of the inside of the boat when you inspect her.
They are relatively easy to repair yourself if you have the welding skills and access to the equipment.
The balance of the boat can be suspect if the superstructure is steel. (too much weight up high)
They are expensive if finished to a high level.
Somewhat rough looking boats can actually be quite sound.
Modern paint systems provide a really good level of protection against corrosion.

a poster on here called MTB has one and seems to be an enthusiast for them.

Good luck.

Try to get a book called STEEL AWAY by LeCain / Sheila Moir ISBN 0-9615508-0-5. This will be written in English and I do not know if it has been translated to other languages but I found it very good & should help. It was published by Windrose Publications, P.O. Box 619, Port Townsend WA 98368 in 1968

Good luck.
