Just had my Suzuki Oil Injected 65 serviced and according to the mechanic alls well with my engine. Why wont the damned thing start then? Could anyone advise on the correct start up proceduer for this engine, there is a push to choke lever on the control box with mine. Easy Start in a can? Good to use or just another nightmare?

Cheers people, safe and happy boating )

If it started ok before you had it serviced and it does'nt now, it dont take Sherlock Holmns to work this one out. If the spanner monkey says "All's well". Get him to show you all's well by starting it. Dont let him fob you off, get him to sort it while your there watching him. Bet you a penny to a pound his charged at least £180 for a service and that probably dont include parts. Two strokes ar'nt rocket science!!

Does the 65 have an ignition light? My Suzi injection 8 hp. had one, a little red LED on the panel which flashes on turnover. If you have one and it isn't lighting, check the cut-off circuit. Occasionally the weight of the lanyard can pull the plug out of the socket.
Use full choke, even when the engine is warm.
If it is of any help, the starting problems I had were all to do with fuel delivery. If there was an airlock in the pipe, it took a long time to clear. As a matter of form I had to raise the can above the level of the motor before turning over.
As others have said, if this fails... back to the engineer!
