Sprayhood/Cockpit Cover

I want to get a Sprayhood and Cockpit Cover made while the boat is out of the water this winter. The boat will require measuring for the frames/covers etc. Can anyone recommend a cover manufacturer that operates in the Plymouth area. thanks for your help. Happy winter lay up time to all John

Its a Fairey Fisherman 28ft motorsailer. Wood construction made in 1964. No 14

I haven't had a sprayhood from them (yet) but I have been very happy with the sails and stack-pack I got from Osen Sails in Plymouth. They are at 3, Richmond Walk. Phone 01752-881812

I can reccomend Martex (www.martexmarine.co.uk/sprayhood_kits.htm). I recently puchased a DIY fitting kit from them and I must say the frames & hood materials are first class and cheaper than most other suppliers. I telephoned them a couple times to ask questions about fitting the parts to the boat and they were very helpful over the phone.
When you order the spray hood they send out the pre-formed frames (after you advise them of some critical but easily measured dimensions). At this stage they do this on trust! They don't ask for any payment. When the frame is fitted satisfactory only then do you send your money (with a couple more critical dimensions) and they in return make up the hood and send it to you to finish and fit. Martex are often at boat jumbles and they have a display sprayhood which shows exactly what you get. I can honestly say the finished item is every bit as good as many other hoods that I've looked at in the marina.
