hello,

What is recommended to lubricate the paddle wheel on a speed tranducer? It's a bit sticky and isn't spinning easily.

Nothing. It runs in seawater so no lubricant will stay in place. If it is sticky then either there is fouling in it (which must be cleaned out) or the plastic parts have become swollen so that the wheel binds on the shaft. Some plastics will swell up and bind if oil lubricated.

Sounds daft, but Viakal works a treat, dissolves the crustacean deposits a treat. rinse well tho, as I'm sure it cant be all that good for the bits and bobs.

DON'T pour the residue/remains into the marina as Viakal is also a pretty effective fish killer.

I remove the peddle wheel before leaving the boat each time

In the past, I just leave it there and it always sticky when I use it next time.

Now, I dip it in fresh water and shake it for a few stoke before leaving it there, it always spin free when being used next time.

Hope that it will work on yours too.
