I read in the torygraph that there'll be speed guns, and quite right too! I fear that severeal posties may cop it, as they always go fast where there are any speed guns. First offence it's a warning, second offence mebbe a fine or they ram you or whatever, confiscate the boat, not sure. Anyway, the limit is 6 knots inside the harbour - and the harbour starts south of the prince consort buoy, I believe? Unlees of course you're a red ferry on emergency duties (carrying a few dozen day trippers) in which case the byelaws stipulate minimum 20knots especially if there are small sailing boats all over the place ....

What intrigues me is where are they going to put the flashing "Slow Down - 6 knots" signs - perhaps on the back of the Red Funnel cat.

I think Chichester have had these guns for some time so I don't know about being the first harbour in the world with them (or do they mean the flashing signs)

Also, will the speed be measured through the water or over the ground?

Damned police will stop at nothing to increase their revenue, sticking speed guns in cows, still I suppose that at least they'll be visible stood chewing the cud on the roadside!

If caught the RSPCA will no doubt not be happy with police cruelty!!!

And sex discrimination bods will insist that they're also put in bulls. Whatever next??
