After dragging at Sark I re- read some PBO articles on anchors. Spade was highly rated,(also highly priced).
Has anybody any experience to confirm claims .?

We've got a 10Kg Spade as the bower anchor on our Albin Vega and we sleep soundly . . .

It seems to be particularly good at cutting through kelp and holding first time, and rarely seems to come up balled up with kelp on recovery in the way other anchors do.

It is expensive, but peace of mind is priceless IMHO

The manufacturer says the new Oceane is just as good holding-wise if not better, and it's much cheaper - just a bit ugly and looks as though it may be difficult to stow.
