much discussed of late as a result of an incident where the anchor supposedly came apart in use. the upshot is that you are advised to use a new nyloc nut every time you reassemble.

Thanks Chris. It's the size that's bothering me because I dropped the bolt in the oggin. I don't want to guess the spec for the same reason people suggest using a new nyloc each time. i've tried pm-ing Alain Hylas but no reply. He's probably bobbing about on a wave somewhere.

if all else fails, you could carry it into a marine supply and hand fit a new bolt and nut, and get couple extras too.

I don't think the bolt is mission critical so long as it is marine grade SS and the right size for the hole. The nut should be a marine grade SS nyloc to fit the bolt - which should itself be long enough to ensure that at least two threads are showing through the nyloc.

Yes.. I apologize.. I was crossing between Santos and Florianopolis..

The bolt is a 10 mm stainless steel (A-4 / 316 L) with a Nylock nut. If possible, drill a 3 mm hole in the extremity of the screw to fit a pin
