I agree with all the sentiments above.....I’m just amazed that there aren’t MF805 owners queuing around your block asking you to do their boat....
It’s our job to persuade Jake to buy another boatI bet you're glad to put down the spanners and 3D printer but personally I'm a bit gutted this thread has come to an end as I've avidly watched your progress over the last 18months!
Incredible job... Getting stuff like the windows and electronics etc sorted looked about 10 levels of professional ability above my basic tinkering skills.
Respect for the vision, commitment and ability to get her fully refurbed to what looks like better than a factory finish. Hope she gives you many years of happy boating.
Like a knackered swift trawler with an engine oil leak, rough fuel tank and dodgy passerelle? It’s our job to persuade Jake to buy another boat![]()
I bought the boat new !....and have done some amazing modifications !...I can launch the rib automatically....I have an electric reclining sofa....that works even without powerLike a knackered swift trawler with an engine oil leak, rough fuel tank and dodgy passerelle?
I don’t think when something breaks, snaps or collapses resulting in your tender going over the side…..it can be termed “automatic”I bought the boat new !....and have done some amazing modifications !...I can launch the rib automatically....I have an electric reclining sofa....that works even without power
When I got the boat, the derrick for launching the dingy had a manual self tailing winch....which meant to launch a boat you had to do a dance of lifting the arm by winch handle, tying off the rope, putting the other rope through the winch and then turning.....and then tying off the rope and repeating endlessly as you make major and minor adjustments.....all the while controlling the swinging boat with your extremely long third arm.I don’t think when something breaks, snaps or collapses resulting in your tender going over the side…..it can be termed “automatic”
But I think my two best modifications (of the many I have done) is the electric sofa (takes fighting over the original single two man sofa which only offered (barely) comfort for one, to an extremely comfortable almost fully reclining for two...all in the same footprint). The other is the bed....it was not an island....and that becomes extremely difficult to get out of in the middle of the night and even making the bed is difficult.....I cut a slot in the middle of the end of the bed and put a step in....now getting in and out of bed is a doddle...even making the bed is easy, as is opening all the bedroom windows. Perfect for the gentleman with the out sized prostate.I don’t think when something breaks, snaps or collapses resulting in your tender going over the side…..it can be termed “automatic”

What I would do is take your boat out the water and park it in front of Jake’s factory….people like him and Mr G, can’t help themselves…they would be all over the boat cleaning and fixing….why do you think Mr G has never accepted my invitation to visit ?Evening Jake, fantastic work as always and I will be sad to see this thread come to an end. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be lifting my 805 out of the water for the winter months, and in doing so, hope to follow your lead and install some similar upgrades. As such, I was wondering whether you had managed to get your wiring diagram into a suitable format to share? If so, could I possibly get a copy, so I can consider some of the equipment changes you fitted and associated wiring. Happy to provide an email address if that’s a better option for sending over? I’m particularly interested in the victron equipment you installed, but equally would also welcome the opportunity to see how you rewired everything and the complete setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated and would assist no end, when seeking to explain my vision to those who have kindly offered to assist me. Kind regards.
