Hi

I feel really stupid for asking this question but I can not find this simple information online.

I bought a boat with a Simrad TP 30 but it is not installed so I need a diagram of the pins in the socket so I can try to power it up.

Hope someone can help

No exactly. It is so weird, cause literally everything else is in the manual but the pinout just isn´t. Or at least I can´t find it.' in any meaningful way

does this help? page 15 https://seamarknunn.com/acatalog/2054418.pdf
not the pinout though.
I did go through this before looking for a diagram, but giving it another look now it would seem that maybe the Simrad tillerpilots come without a socket. This would certainly explain the difficulty I have finding a diagram :)

If this is the case I guess I will try to reach out to the previous owner and see if he remembers, or I have to open it up and take a look.

I have the original Navico TP300 which later became the Simrad TP30. It came with a 6 pin Bulgin bucanneer connector wired like this:

Yes, I have found this too, but I don´t see a way to determine which pin is pin 1 etc., since there are no identifying marks. My socket has a plastic piece sticking out so it can only be plugged in correctly (a keyway I believe it is called)raymarine_pinout.png

If you unscrew the case and take it apart (which is easy) you can buzz out the black and red wires with a multi meter...
Or take the plug apart....
There is a plastic coller around the pin end then you push around with the aid of a flat blade screw driver...

If it is the Bulgin bucanneer the pinouts are on page 7
Bulgin
If you look closely there are numbers next to the screw terminals

If you have a dust cap you can use the castellated top to unscrew the collar and gain access to the screw terminals. If cable mounted you also have to slacken the cable gland to slide the cable into the body of the plug.

Surely, if you know where the keyway is ( ie next to pin 3&4 ) you should be able to determine the other pins?

Sorry for the late reply. I ended up changing the engine in my boat so I lost focus on this :)

You are absolutely correct there are numbers next to the terminals. They are just very hard to see and I over looked them.

Thanks for all the help everybody
