It seems to me that if you are concerned about lightning damage the first thing to address is a very thick conductor from base of Ali mast to water. it does seem that you need to connect to a metal keel or provide a fair area of contact with water for the cables. That can be done with lcoally available material. Then if lightning is likely disconnect all electronics if possible put them in a steel box like oven. Get crew to avoid touching metal. ol'will
