On my Snapdragon, the easiest way to go forward was with one leg each side of the guard wires, but I rather think that Mrs W is looking for something like this

Thankfully there are monohulls that have side decks. Though that does limit the space for a coachroof, therefore they are smaller down below. In all seriousness, have you considered something like a Hirondelle? Sails ok, very confortable and spacious for ‘er indoors. I can see that a Dragonfly might be a step too far, though they are easy to sail.

With Brexit we have a limited selection to choose from here in Galicia,there are several double boats and eyond but way too expensive.Goingout ofGalicia would mean looking for a boat capable of more than sheltered coastal sailing in order to sail it home ,probably looking more towards boats for sale in France or along the northSpanishcoast
