It seems the Shotley are more interested in building apartments than the quality of the Marina.
As I understand it they have now introduced parking charges in the main public car park. Orignially the bus used to go down to the end to connect with the foot ferry, but now does not go beyond the pub.
Draw your own conclusions.
That's a shame, Shotley used to be a good place to visit and change crew during East coast mini cruises.
It's getting tricky to find places to leave vehicles for a few days now.

Mark, the new yard manager, is very knowledgable, he has been in the industry for several years and was one of the directors at Neptune marina. Agree with you ref Gary, but Mark also knows his way around an engine.
I'm interested to see how much they increase berthing fees for 2025.

I really don't understand this constant carping about Shotley except for the high charge for outside contractors which is unreasonable.. It is in the range of other marinas and is pretty well maintained. Other marinas don't have the expense of operating a lock 24 hours. They own the land and why shouldn't they make money out of it? Berth holders and guests are not charged for parking.
